Jerome Fleming

Meet Jerome, a 100 Gardens Board of Directors member. Jerome brings an extensive network of educators, politicians, film makers, and people with various other backgrounds to 100 Gardens.

Jerome grew up in Rivers, South Carolina and graduated from Johnson C Smith University with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Jerome has significant experience working as a teacher at West Charlotte High School where he taught Career and Technical Education classes. A fond memory of Jerome is turning his computer science class into a recording studio in order to better connect with his students. 100 Gardens strives to emulate the teaching philosophy of Jerome as he advises the team on what he learned from this experience.

Along with his teaching and mentorship experience, Jerome has worked for Wells Fargo and Bank of America in data science roles. Jerome ran for the state house of representatives. Although he did not win the race, Jerome cites this as an impactful journey allowing him to build relationships with leaders across North Carolina. He brings these community connections to the 100 Garden team.

Jerome has also made 63 different movies and feature films, many with tens of thousands of views. He is working with his associates and 100 Gardens to produce a documentary highlighting the students, detainees, and prisoners who learn through various 100 Gardens programs. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters where they make movies and explore the food scene in Charlotte.
