Andrew Brown

Meet Andrew Brown, a 100 Gardens School Site Coordinator. Andrew matriculated through the internship pathway before coming onto a full time role in the organization. Native to Charlotte, Andrew attended South Mecklenburg High School and received a B.A. in History at Brown University in 2022. He is thrilled to give back to the CMS school system that educated him. Andrew brings youthful energy and an ability to connect with students as a mentor and role model.

In college, Andrew worked as a Miriam Hospital volunteer, a freshman mentor, and was the student director of intramural sports. He works with Charlotte FC as a Youth Soccer Coach through the Greater Goals program, running after school programs at Title 1 elementary schools in the Charlotte area. He is starting as the Charlotte Preparatory Academy high school soccer coach in the fall of 2024. He also tutors and helps with college essays for CMS students on the weekends. Andrew has always enjoyed working with students and thrives whether leading after-school 100 Gardens learning activities or working directly with students in greenhouses harvesting lettuce.

In his free time, Andrew enjoys playing and watching sports, reading, and working on his writing skills with aspirations of producing a novel someday.
